Teacher of the Year

The Teacher of the Year program recognizes and honors outstanding teachers in Tennessee. We applaud teachers who care about children and who devote their professional lives to enriching the lives of Tennessee children. The faculty of HMMS has nominated Ms. Angela Venable as our Teacher of the Year. Ms. Venable is a graduate from Middle Tennessee State University where she earned her Bachelors degree in Mathematics. While at MTSU, she was a member of the volleyball, soccer, and track teams. This is her third year teaching at Head Middle Magnet School but she spent the previous nine years teaching and coaching at the high school level in Rutherford County. She teaches 8th grade math (Algebra IA) and Algebra I Honors for high school credit. She is also the volleyball coach here at HMMS.
